For about 10 days it has been super hot in London, way too hot to wear anything but shorts or mini skirts. This is an outfit I wore yesterday, my H&M Fashion against Aids skirt with some white summer basics and one of the delicate thread bracelets I made a while ago. Ooh, and I found a cool street in my neighbourhood with lots of exciting backgrounds for pictures, so expect a few more outfit posts in the future!
This is my first real product review on this blog because there are already so many reviews for most products out there, I never thought another one was necessary. But I haven’t found many opinions on the new Born Lippy Sticks from the Body Shop, and they definitely deserve a mention! I’m actually really into the Body Shop right now, they have the most yummy smelling products. They just came out with some new lip balms/lip products including the Born Lippy […]
I spontaneously decided to turn my dolphin necklace into an ankle bracelet. All I did was shorten the chain of the necklace (which I wore in this post), but there are also some less ‘invasive’ ways to customise your jewellery, so you can wear it around your ankle without ruining it for its original purpose: bracelets: since your wrist is likely to be smaller than your ankle, elongate bracelets by attaching an extension made out of a piece of chain […]
It’s safe to say that summer has finally arrived here in London, in fact today it was almost too hot. But I’m not complaining :) I thought I’d show you what I’m planning on wearing for a big part of next week, after my last exam, if I can find a good outdoor swimming pool by then (message me if you know a nice one :)). I can’t remember when I last wore a actual bikini set (as in top […]
Here is a little DIY idea that is great for using up any leftover pieces of chain or thread you might have lying around. The bracelets are inspired by the jewellery line ‘Orpelia’ that I saw at Topshop last week. They had all these really simple necklaces and bracelets made out of only one strand of coloured thread with a little gold or silver pendant or double-layered with some fine chain. All pieces cost at least 20£… too much for […]
I’m pretty sure that for most people their style influences not just their fashion choices but also what they want their living space to look like. What do you think? My current fashion favourites definitely have the same kind of aesthetic as my idea of a nice apartment. Here is a selection from my current interiors mood board with some favourite tumblr pics:
I might not wear make-up everyday, but I always wear nail polish. Pretty much every day of the year. Not only because I like playing around with colour, and the application itself feels like meditation for me. Nail polish also keeps my nails healthy. I realise this might sound a little counterintuitive. A while ago someone asked me: “How come your nails look so nice even though you always wear nail polish? Some commenters have also said something like “I […]
Since this DIY I’ve been experimenting with mixing coloured thread and metal chains. I got the idea for this clever weaving technique from Honestly…WTF, and I decided to break free from my current favourite colour scheme of whites and pastels and make a super fat (turned out to be 1″) , heavy and colourful bracelet :) I’ve actually been saving this post for a while now because I’m going to give the bracelet to my cousin as a present. well […]
Here’s a random selection of pics that inspire me at the moment. Leather, denim, white, shorts, ankle boots + everything’s kinda minimal and simple but more in an edgy-casual way than an elegant one. Check out my tumblr for more. Also, if you have a tumblr that you think I might like, post your link in the comments!
I’m pretty sure that every girl owns some version of the plain black spaghetti strap top. The ones you get for 5 Euros from H&M? Well, I had three of those, so one of them has been in my ‘To-customise’ pile for forever. Changing out the straps with some cool material is a really easy way to turn boring tops into something much more exciting. For this DIY I decided to go with curb chain in different metals, but you […]
It’s Sunday! What day could be more appropriate to talk about loungewear? If I had to bet my money on it I would say that this is probably the most neglected category in our closets. Of course, some might just wear their normal clothes, but I think most people prefer to put on something more comfy as soon as they come home; whether they will be doing productive stuff or just lazing around. Considering that we all spend a considerable […]
On all my other posts about optimism at least one person commented something like: “I’m not a pessimist, I’m a realist”. Is realism better than optimism? What does it mean to be a realist anyway? Although our modern notion of ‘being realistic’ is much closer to standard pessimism, i.e. downplaying the good things and seeing the bad as inevitable, a true realist is someone who makes completely unbiased judgements and who doesn’t see things through any kind of filter, neither […]
